Content & Media Policy
Rules for photos, videos, descriptions, and messages you upload to Roov.
This page is a working draft — the substance is what the product does today, but the final wording is pending review. Contact support@roov.africa if anything here contradicts what you were told in-app.
Listing photos + videos
Must show the actual unit being listed. No stock images. No photos of a different property, even a similar one. No renderings presented as real photos.
Reasonable lighting, in focus, not misleading (e.g. wide-angle shots that make a room look twice its size are discouraged and may trigger extra review).
Videos must follow the Video Guidelines — steady pan through every room, natural daylight, clean spaces, 30-60 seconds ideal, cap at 1 minute.
Do not include the tenant's personal information (name plates, mail, ID documents) in the photo or video.
Descriptions + titles
Must accurately describe the unit — no exaggerating the number of bedrooms, misstating the area, or hiding known defects.
No discriminatory language regarding ethnicity, religion, or origin.
No contact details (phone, WhatsApp, email) in the description — chat routes through Roov so the platform can protect both sides.
No off-platform payment requests, personal bank details, or payment links outside Roov's checkout.
Chat messages
Same rules apply. No harassment, threats, or hate speech. No off-platform payment requests. No asking for or sharing intimate content.
Roov's chat safety banner reminds users to pay only through Roov — off-platform payments aren't covered.
Copyright + ownership
You must have the right to upload the content. Uploading someone else's photos, videos, floor plans, or copy without permission may result in the listing being removed and, in severe cases, account termination.
By uploading, you grant Roov a non-exclusive licence to store, display, and distribute your content within the platform for the purpose of running the service (see Terms of Service).
Prohibited content
Illegal content of any kind. Content that sexually exploits minors. Content promoting violence or hatred. Malware. Attempts to phish other users.
Moderation + removal
Roov may remove any content that violates this policy without prior notice. Repeated violations trigger the Account Suspension Policy.
